      PABLO BURCHARD AGUAYO (Chilean 1919 - 1991) A PAINTING, "The Artist's Studio, Venice," oil on canvas . 78" x 47 1/2" NOTE: Son of the master Pablo Burchard, he followed in the footsteps of his father in painting and those of his grandfather, Theodore Burchard in architecture. He obtained the title of architect in the Catholic University of Chile. After emphasizing like painter of watercolors and tempers, traveled to the United States in 1941, where he perfected his artistic studies in the University of Columbia, thanks to a scholarship granted by the Doherty Foundation. To his professional career in both disciplines, he adds his work as Cultural Attaché of Chile in Mexico and Spain. Among his architectural works stand out urban projects, tourist complexes and the Chilean embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He also performed scenographic works for operas in Chile and Germany. At the end of the forties he participated in the formation of the School of Art of the Catholic University where he also taught. Source: Museo Nacional Bellas Artes
