Burchardt' In gilded profile frame Dimensions: 36 x 51.5 cm Provenance: Private collection, Germany Good condition Summer landscape with thunderstorm, the dark thunderclouds depicted full of atmosphere, with fine brushstrokes, the artist is able to convey the impression of summer with the many flowers in the meadow; large-scale paintings by the artist fetch up to more than €32,000 at international auctions The Russian landscape painter Fedor Karlovich Burkhardt (1854-1918) has captured a summer landscape in this painting created around 1900. A hillside cluttered with flowers slope to the right into a small pond. On the horizon small copse is to see. The sky, in the left half still loose cloudy, has pulled together in the right half to looming thunderclouds. The artist masterfully has managed to capture the thundery atmosphere in this painting. The oil painting is signed lower left in Cyrillic 'F. Burchardt'. It bears occasional tiny paint losses and minor framing traces. The condition overall is good. The painting measures 36 x 51.5 cm.
