David Burdeny Sold at Auction Prices

David Burdeny was born in Canada. He studied at the University of Manitoba and graduated in interior design in 1993, which was followed by architecture in 1998. His works were presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions, especially in Canada and the USA. Besides, his works are published in a number of international publications.
At the age of 12, David Burdeny started to photograph the prairie landscape and produced his first prints in a makeshift darkroom that also served as his bedroom closet. Primarily self-taught, his architecture and design background greatly influences his penchant for simple and exactly planned depictions of the sky, the horizon or the hundreds of marks people tend to leave behind. The artist purposefully photographs in poor light and usually chooses long exposure time, in order to show those things that normal eyes can't see.
