A lovely pair of signed watercolor paintings by early 20th century American artist Hans Busch, both depicting elegant ladies of Asian descent relaxing on a pleasant spring or summer day. One painting features a young lady dressed in white with her hair pulled back, reading a book below a tree on a riverbank with blooming flowers and grasses before her and a picturesque hilly landscape behind her that is graced by a waterfall and verdant trees. Joining this piece is a painting of a woman sitting on a blue bench beneath a leafy tree in a beautiful garden with blossoming flowers before her as well as a tranquil lake and pagoda edifice beyond. Both paintings are set behind glass in matching custom bamboo style wooden frames embellished with gold and vermilion hues.
