        EXILE measurements note 67.5cm., 26½in. signed and dated: J Butensky © 1915, inscribed "CELLINI" BRONZE WORKS N-Y- and THEY ARE GONE WITHOUT STRENGTH BEFORE THE PURSUER and EXILE in hebrew bronze, dark brown patina NOTE Butensky was of Russian-Jewish origin who studied under Caspar Von Zumbusch in Vienna, 1892-93, and afterwards with Mercie and Boucher in Paris. He emigrated to the US and his Universal Peace is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art while another cast of the present Exile is in the White House. See Optiz, pp.55-6.
