    Large oil on canvas nautical scene shows a black hulled three-mast ship flying American flag sailing right to left with lighthouse on point of land and other ships on a blue white capped ocean. White cloud sky with glimpses of blue. Signed lower left "H R Butman, 1932". Housed in a gilt frame liner. SIZE: 25" x 46-3/4". CONDITION: Two patches to reverse with corresponding inpainting, very good. 9-97527

Butman (American, late 19th-early 20th century), Vessels at Sea with an American Clipper Ship in the Foreground, oil on canvas, 25" x 47", signed LL and dated indistinctly LL. 2 1/4" x 2" tear in center of canvas and needs cleaning, otherwise good, unlined condition. In a frame measuring 28" x 49 3/4".
