The paintings of Marilyn Caldwell are represented in over 500 public and private collections in the United States, Middle East and Europe. Her watercolors are filled with a vibrant transparency and show an exciting mastery of the medium. She chooses her subjects with imagination and style. Having exhibited widely in museums and juried shows, she has won more than a dozen top awards. Caldwell has exhibited works in museums including the Currier Gallery of Art, New Hampshire; The Mattatuck Museum; The Slater Memorial Museum; The Museum of Art, Science and Industry; The White House; The Wadsworth Atheneum and The Smithsonian Institute. Her work is in the permanent collection of Thomas Hoving, former director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Caldwell studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and for the past 35 years has been painting for collectors and galleries. She resides in southern Connecticut.
