Robert A Carver Sold at Auction Prices

b. 1940 - d. 2012

This Gallery will be dedicated to the final works of Robert Carver, who passed away August 27th, 2012.

Robert Carver, a unique and innovative artist, had an uncanny sense for spiritual vibrations that make his paintings live and throb with a rebirth of three-dimensional reality. A native Kansan, Robert was born in El Dorado, KS in 1940. He believed some artists are born with a natural ability to create and had been producing drawings, paintings, and handmade objects since early childhood. “I can’t remember when I wasn’t involved in some form of artistic expression. I was drawing long before I knew what the word meant,” he said. During his teenage years, while attending El Dorado High School, Robert was involved in sign painting, pin-striping vehicles, and other artistic things. He continued his education at Butler County Community College. When he moved to Wichita, he studied graphic design and studio art at Wichita State University. Before becoming a full time artist, he was an aircraft mechanic, inspector, aircraft supervisor, technical writer, and illustrator, which left him with a burning desire to become a full time artist. Robert stated, “No matter what I do in my life, my destiny seems to focus on creating enjoyment for others and satisfaction for myself through art.” Carver turned to full time art in 1972, and received acclaim for his work in a range of media. He earned numerous awards for his work in competition, interpreting and transmitting his mind images into a highly representational form of realism.
