Felice Castegnaro - "Figure Veneziane" (Venetian Figures)

    Est: €3,000 - €3,500

Felice Castegnaro was born in Montebello Vicentino in 1872, and his first steps in the art world were taken at the Accademia Olimpica in Vicenza. He later moved to Venice, where he immersed himself in art studies by taking courses taught by E. Tito. His artistic talent clearly emerged when he presented works with lagoon themes at the 1899 Verona Exhibition and the 1900 Milan Triennale, with a particular work entitled "Venice in Summer." In 1901, Castegnaro further established himself at the Biennale with the work "Raggi d'oro," characterized by rapid brushstrokes and a vivid color palette, becoming a hallmark of his style. His artistic output included a variety of genres, including landscapes, portraits and figure paintings. Significant works include "Maternità" (Cassa di Risparmio collection, Venice) and "Mammina" (exhibited in Rome, Palazzo del Quirinale). He actively participated in the Venice biennials, with notable contributions in 1903 with "Le tabacchinie," and in the Turin exhibitions in 1902 with works such as "Confidenze" and "Al mare." In Rome in 1906 he presented "Fondamentina," while in 1911 he exhibited "Falciatori." Felice Castegnaro's career was characterized by continuous participation in important artistic events and exhibitions, consolidating his presence in the Italian art scene of the time. His death in 1958 marked the end of a prolific and influential career, but his artistic contributions continue to be appreciated and studied to this day.
