      Emilio Centurion (Argentinean, 1894-1970), "Untitled", oil on canvas, signed and dated "1947" lower right, 14 in. x 20 in., unframed. Note: Centurion's earliest works were figural. He studied with the Italian artist Giuseppe Moretti (1857-1935) before embarking on a study tour of Brazil, Italy, Spain and France. Centurion was inspired by the abstract and geometric style of painting then emerging in Europe, and he began to adopt a less representational approach to his work. He won numerous awards including those from the Salon Nacional de Primavera in 1919 and the Salon de Acuarelistes in 1925
