The margin with scattered small handling creases. The image dimensions are 59.5 x 44.4 cm. The sheet measures 76 x 56 cm. Marino Marini (1901-1980) Marini started studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in 1917. In 1928, he travelled to Paris, where he spent the following years and met the artists Giorgio de Chirico, Wassily Kandinsky and Aristide Maillol. Later, this is where he met the two founders of the Avant-garde Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. A popular topic of the Italian artist is the connection between horses and humans. Marini's most famous sculpture is the bronze ‘L'angelo della citta’ [The angel of the city] in front of the entrance of the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni in Venice, where now the Peggy Guggenheim Collection is located.
