Gina P. Clapp Sold at Auction Prices

As we move from winter into spring, perhaps daydreaming a bit, artist Gina Clapp is asking the viewer to think about the concept of fields. A field can represent an expanse of land, memories, even ideas. Some are vast areas with wide vistas and puffy clouds; some are only suggested by a detail from a Japanese card or painting. Sometimes what holds our attention is what the field contains, a pool of water, some plants, moonlight. In the largest sense, a field can also be a space for thought that reminds us of our past or hopes, allows us a sense of freedom for that moment, and gives us some space to dream before we return to the present and all that it demands.
