Fine typed D.S. prepared by a collector 25pp. 4to., [n.d.], entitled "The Surrender: May 2, 1945". Clark writes of accepting the surrender of the German Army in Italy and signs at conclusion. Superb content, mentioning the crumbling of the Nazi army, aerial bombardment in Northern Italy in April 1945, the IV corps commanded by General Crittenberger, the details of the battle, with Clark quoting a conversation with von Senger: "...'Why did you stay south of the Po and be smashed?' I asked. Von Senger shrugged his shoulders. 'Hitler...ordered every man to die in position....', then "...We began collecting a large assortment of German generals, whose stories we wanted to hear...we obviously learned nothing...my G-2 came around with a disappointed look...'Nothing's happened,' he said...'Well,' I said, 'take a couple of cases of Scotch whisky over there. I think that may help them talk...'". Much, much more technical and strategic content. Housed in a custom blue slipcase, ex: Rendell. Fine.
