      (1823 - 1862) Confederate brigadier general who formed Cobb's Legion, fought in the Seven Days and at Second Bull Run, killed in action at Fredericksburg. Brother of Howell Cobb. Rare A.L.S. 'Thos. R. R. Cobb', 1p. 4to., Athens, Ga., June 25, 1846 to attorney James Thomas. In part: '...Enclosed I have taken the liberty of sending you a packet of interrogatories which I wish you to have executed & return to the Clerk of our County. Our Court sits the 2nd Monday in August. The witnesses live at Mt. Zion I am informed. I will cheerfully reciprocate the favor to you at any time, or in any other things which lies in my power...' Toned, with a split on one fold, small area of marginal loss from seal removal, else boldly penned and overall good to very good.

      (1823-1862) Confederate brigadier general, brother of Howell Cobb, served in the Maryland campaign and was killed in action at the Battle of Fredericksburg. Close cut black ink signature: Thos. R. R. Cobb" on a 4 x 1 in. slip cut from a letter. Mounted, a clean tear bisecting the signature.
