Until 1967, the town experienced a fundamental shift from a small fishing village to a popular holiday resort with numerous skyscrapers and hotels. Today, Benidorm is the town with the highest skyscraper density in relation to the population in the world. The artist has depicted the town with light colours and in a romantically transfigured mood. The oil painting is in a good overall condition with only small traces of age and use. The wooden frame shows a white lime paint and is also in a good condition. The work is signed „Segarra Codina“ at the lower left and again at the back side. Furthermore, the verso is inscribed „Surtida de Sol (Benidorn)“. The canvas measures 65.5 cm in height and 81 cm in width. The frame measures 84 cm in height and 98.5 cm in width.
