      3 hand-coloured engravings, 39,5 x 45 cm, laid paper, signed and dated in the plate "Colimbert sculpt 1795" (some stains, sm. tears in the margins, not affecting the image). - Prints illustrating the habits and way of life of the indigenous inhabitants of Africa, including the arrival of Europeans, the marriage of negroes (sic), and their housing. The series (incomplete) was made to celebrate the first abolition of slavery on 4 February 1794. Nicolas Colibert was a French engraver (1750-1806) working both in Paris and London.
