      A folio of nineteen views of London including: White Hart Street; The greengrocers, Clare Market; Vere Street; Portsmouth Street; Clare Street; Old Curosity shop, Clare Market; Houghton Street, Clare Market; and View of St. Magnus the Martyr, London Bridge; St. James's Church, Clerkenwell; New Square and Preparing for the Coronation of King George twelve signed 'G.W. COLLINS', one signed with initials 'G.W.C.' (lower left), one signed and dated 'G.W.COLLINS/FEB. 1900.' (lower right), sixteen inscribed with title sixteen pencil, three pencil and watercolour, unframed 14 3/8 x 10 5/8 in. (37.5 x 27 cm.); and smaller; and Sketches in Clare Street, The Builder, 29 September 1900 (20) LITERATURE The Builder, 29 September 1900. NOTES Clare Market was founded in the 17th century, and by the early 18th century was flourishing as a meat and fish market. Collins' drawings represent a last look at an interesting quarter of London before it vanished, and this is what makes them significant.
