      Pastel on paper by Richard Conte (America, 1910-1975). Picasso-like portrait of wife Colleen Conte. Back of frame written: "Original by Richard Nicholas Peter Conte with Pablo Picasso, 7-18-09. Enjoy to Sheila & Gerry Phillips. Love, Colleen Conte." This lot includes a photo of Richard Conte (approximate size: 11 1/2" x 9 1/2" x 3/4"). The sight size is approximately 19 1/4" x 15 1/2". The approximate frame dimensions are 27 1/4" x 23 1/4" x 1". The approximate weight is 7 lbs. Note: Conte is best known as a 1940's & 1950's "B" movie character actor, later known for his role in "The Godfather." This pastel was purchased at Colleen Conte's personal property auction (wife of Richard Conte) on July 18, 2009, in Fredonia, Kansas. Auction was presented by Auctioneer Larry Marshall. It is rumored that Conte created this pastel along side Picasso (Conte knew Picasso and painted with him).
