Coogan's Impressionistic style, replete with adept brushwork and command of the palette knife, in concert with his keen perception of color, are quite impressive. Size: 20" L x 16" W (50.8 cm x 40.6 cm) Coogan had formal training at the Art Students League in New York City as well as the University of New Hampshire. Fairfield Coogan was a friend of William Draper's, and his wife Edith was godmother to his daughter Maggi Draper. Provenance: The William F. Draper Collection, New York City, USA, acquired via descent from the late William Franklin Draper (1912-2003), an accomplished American artist whose career spanned seven decades. Known as the "Dean of American Portraiture," William Draper was the only artist to paint President John F.
