Very good condition Estimate $6,000-$8,000 Filled with color and drama, this photograph by American photographer Kevin Cooley depicts a large Air France airplane landing in St. Maarten. A crowd gathers on the beach, cheering its arrival on the sunny day. Taken from a low angle and executed in a large scale, Cooley heightens the otherwise banal activity into one of frenzy and danger. Executed in 2007, this c-print mounted on aluminum is signed, dated and numbered one from an edition of seven. The work measures 46 ¼ x 60 ¼ inches. Small 1 in. dent in lower left edge, otherwise in good condition. Kevin Cooley (American, b. circa 1975) With an MFA from The School of the Visual Arts in New York, American photographer Kevin Cooley has had his images published in numerous magazines, including The New York Times Magazine, Bon Appetit and GQ, among others. His first solo exhibition was held in 2002, and has created public installations in New York City and Miami, Florida. Cooley’s works are part of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum permanent collection.
