Martha Dale Coope was born in Columbus 1916.

She studied sculpture at The Carnegie Institute of Technology. She exhibited work at the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh and the Beaux Arts Institute of Design in New York. Other education was conducted at Ohio Wesleyan University. She studied with Clyde Singer and exhibited at the Area Artists Shows and Midyears at the Butler Institute of American Art. She had one-man shows at the Butler Institute in 1960 and at Thiel College. She later had a Mother-Daughter show at the Butler in 1977.
