        British, 1785-1833 A Gray Hunter Trotting in a Park, circa 1810 Remnant of a signature (ll) Oil on canvas 25 1/2 x 34 inches (64.8 x 86.4 cm) Provenance: Arthur Ackermann & Son, London Private collection, Virginia Glue relined. There is a 9-inch-long horizontal repaired tear in the sky in the upper left quadrant, roughy 3 inches below the upper edge. In-painted cracks and other scattered restoration in the sky. Some contours and shadows on the horse reinforced, especially around his muzzle.

Purported to be from the collection of Lord and Lady Lansdowne and according to a 1961 newspaper, had hung in the home of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Randolph in Shadyside, Kentucky.

SS 24 x 31 in.; DOA 30 x 37 in. The inscription notes that the painting was exhibited at the Norwich Exhibition of Paintings in 1832 and at another exhibition following Cooper's death in 1833.
