        Gouache painting (tempera on paper), 19th century, Italian school, depicting Ischia and Procida from the sea. Dimensions inside the frame: 44x23 cm. Dimensions including the frame: 52x30 cm. Signed at the bottom left by Antonio Coppola. The artwork is in good condition. Antonio Coppola, a Neapolitan painter, was born on January 21, 1839. He studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Naples, where he received multiple awards. He painted in tempera and oil, specializing in landscapes. He lived in Athens for about two years, where he executed two large ceilings in a princely palace. Later, he was in Bari, where he painted several portraits. Upon returning to Naples, he worked tirelessly, exhibiting many remarkable works on various occasions. His noteworthy works also include his watercolor scrolls, which he handled with fine and meticulous craftsmanship.
