            Est: $12,000 - $16,000

            5. Richard Corben inside cover art for Fantagor #3. (1972) Accomplished in ink, watercolor, and artist marker on 11.25 x 16.75 in. artist board. This rare underground work by the legendary Corben has been hidden away in a private collection for many years. Corben is one of the great creative geniuses to rise out of the 1970s, and his horror work is particularly sought-after. He often signed as “Gore” in homage to EC Comics’ Graham Ingels who sometimes used the nickname, “Ghastly”. Fantagor was among the best of the underground/EC homage comix and this iconic image was published as the inside front cover to Fantagor #3. Signed in the dialog bubble, “Rich Corben”. In very fine condition. $12,000 - $16,000

Richard Corben signed original cover art for Death Rattle V2 #1.

            Est: $20,000 - $30,000

            4. Richard Corben signed original cover art for Death Rattle V2 #1. (1985) Accomplished in airbrush with mixed media on 13.5 x 18 in. artist leaf with 3-hole punches at outer left edge. Monochromatic with slight color at the horizon line. The magnificent and well-known cover of Death Rattle V2 #1, by legendary, award-winning artist Richard Corben. Best known for his work at Warren Publications, a vast contribution to underground comix, as well as LP covers such as Meatloaf’s iconic Bat out of Hell. Heir apparent to EC’s “Ghastly” Graham Ingels, Corben continued the horror tradition that was nearly killed off when the comics code began to censor overground horror comic art. This iconic underground Death Rattle title was rebooted in 1985 while Corben was still considered too edgy for the mainstream. The published cover was slightly censored, covering the girl’s breasts. Titled at upper left above art, “Death Rattle Cover”. A rare chance to acquire a “horribly” magnificent cover by this iconic and highly sought-after artistic genius. Signed at lower right, “c 1985 Corben”. Exhibiting even toning to outer borders, slight residue to upper two corners, and a repaired .75 in. tear in the upper right blank border, not affecting art. In fine condition. $20,000 - $30,000

"In every quadrant in time, telepathic and mysterious beings are manipulating the very fabric of the universe, seeking ultimate control. On one world, the wise leader of the Republic valiantly tries to contain the atrocities of marauding, savage hordes. On another, people are bought and sold as chattel in the dreaded Goblin Market. And everywhere, the insidious influence of the Riders is felt, as they steal and enslave human minds. But in the void of the Time Lanes, a boy with telepathic powers he has yet to discover has entered the portal where all worlds are joined. Young and untried, a loner with much to learn, he must now become the legendary Warchild, if the universe is ever to survive."
