1909-11 T206 White Border John Titus Philadelphia Phillies Baseball Series Piedmont Cigarette Card

            Est: -

John Franklin Titus (February 21, 1876 – January 8, 1943), nicknamed "Tightpants", was an American professional baseball outfielder, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies (1903–12) and Boston Braves (1912–13). Titus’ most notable accomplishment was that he led the National League (NL) in being hit by pitches (16), in 1909 and ranks 74th on the MLB career Hit By Pitch list (94). To baseball card collectors, Titus is also notable for the card depicting him in the T206 set, as it is the only one in which the player has a mustache. At the time of his death, it was noted that Titus was the last player to sport a handlebar mustache. It was noted when Titus shaved his mustache during spring training in March 1908. In 11 big league seasons, Titus played in 1,402 games and had 4,960 at bats, 738 runs, 1,401 hits, 253 doubles, 72 triples, 38 home runs, 564 RBI, 140 stolen bases, 620 walks, a .282 batting average, a .373 on-base percentage, a .385 slugging percentage, 1,912 total bases, and 144 sacrifice hits. • 1966 RCA Record Store Poster for Elvis Presley's Singles "Blue River" and "Tell Me Why"
            Aug. 12, 2018

1966 RCA Record Store Poster for Elvis Presley's Singles "Blue River" and "Tell Me Why"

            Est: $500 - $1,000

By December 1965 when the single "Blue River" / "Tell Me Why" was released, Elvis had six singles, one LP and three album releases for the year. Elvis recorded "Tell Me Why," the ballad written by Titus Turner, in 1957 and recorded "Blue River" at RCA Studio B in Nashville on May 27, 1963. "Tell Me Why" reached number 33 on the Billboard charts and became a gold record even though it was an eight-year-old unreleased cut. Despite the single release of these tunes receiving little radio airtime, the record still managed to sell over 400,000 copies. Offered is a horizonal record store promotion for the single release that features images of the picture sleeves against a bold red background, with large yellow and white lettering announcing "Elvis' New Single" down the center. It was an eye-catching advertising poster sure to catch the eyes of young fans eager to purchase any new release by Elvis, as evidenced by the large number of copies sold. The poster, measuring 10 1/4 by 22 3/4 inches (26.03 x 57.78 cm), is stored flat and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

            Feb. 06, 2015

British title Chassis n° AM300/3/1396 Engine n° DBA 1027 - nice color combination - Rare model - Left-hand drive This Aston Martin was delivered new in 1957, to a certain R.W. Titus who lived in the US. Presented in a very elegant shade of grey, a perfect complement to the brown leather interior, this rare left-hand drive version (included as a DHC in the 1963 Aston Martin Register) has benefitted from a thorough restoration in England. Equipped with its original engine (matching numbers), this is a twin carburettor model with manual gearbox. The car was restored mechanically by L.T. Classic in London and the engine makes an enthralling sound. The body has been repainted, and all the seals have been replaced. Inside, the upholstery has been beautifully renovated, and the beige carpets replaced with new ones, presenting a stylish combination of colours. Bought by the current owner in November 2012, the car has since had work carried out by the garage de la Poste in Vésinet to repair the steering box, overhaul the handbrake and fit Michelin X tyres that remain little used. The odometer, showing 68518 miles, needs to be serviced. With around 550 examples built, and one of the most expensive cars of its day, it was equipped with a wonderful 2.9-litre twin-cam straight-six engine that produced over 160 bhp and was capable of close to 200 km/h. A smooth car that retained a feel of the racing Aston Martins, it was considered at the time to be a connoisseur's car. It remains so today.
