149 x 99 cm. Oil on panel. Devotional representation of the Virgin as protector in her invocation of the Virgin of Mercy in which she opens her mantle, supported by two angels, like a celestial vault to protect her devotees. The work was made by this master who specialised in mural painting and altarpieces. He is considered to be the introducer of Raphaelism in Spain, probably due to his training in Valencia with Vicente Masip, as he never travelled to Italy. He was the renovator of Renaissance painting in Aragon, and his style is notable for its meticulous detail, elegance, stylisation of the canon and elaborate compositions. Restored work in which the support has been changed (transposition). It shows losses of polychromy and restorations.
