They are images of the large murals that Covarrubias was commissioned to paint for the Pacific House at the 1939 - 1940 Golden Gate International Exposition (GGIE -World Fair) on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay. The titles of the prints are: 1. Peoples of the Pacific; 2. The Flora and Fauna of the Pacific; 3. Art Forms of the Pacific Area; 4. Economy of the Pacific; 5. Native Dwellings of the Pacific Area; and 6. Native Means of Transportation in the Pacific Area. Includes original portfolio. Measure 25 in. x 38 in. and 19 in. x 24 in. Unframed, loose and not glued or mounted. Provenance: Estate collection of William Greenbaum, Gloucester, Massachusetts, Proprietor of William Greenbaum Fine Prints. Includes clam shell case that measures 17.5 in. x 15 in. x 1 in. If lot is absent of a condition report one may be requested via email. She is now very much of a personage in France having enacted, in the city of Paris, the exacting role of Madame Sans Gêne, Sardou's heroine of the Napoleonic era." This work is a second version of an illustration published in "Six derisions from a Mexican pencil: contemporary Americana pictured by Covarrubias," Vanity Fair, March 1925.
