      Lee Brown Coye, American, 1907 to 1981, a watercolor cityscape painting depicting houses. Signed lower right by the artist and dated 1938. Matted and framed. Coye is probably best remembered for his black-and-white illustrations for pulp magazines and horror fiction, but he produced a variety of works in other media.       Two woodcuts from Weird Tales, dated 1954, numbered 1/100. Lee Coye, born in Syracuse, New York, is best known as an illustrator and painter. Coye's fame as an illustrator of the macabre developed as a result of his drawings for 'Weird Tales', a popular pulp magazine. From 1945 to 1952, his covers and interior work captured images of horror and the supernatural. In the 1960 s, Coye's work appeared in such magazines as 'Fantastic' and 'Amazing'. Overall Size: 15 x 12 in. Sight Size: 4 1/2 x 6 in.
