The letter t in the sentence ‘Money can’t buy it!’ is erased with Tippex. Above this sentence an image of a 100 dollar note with a happy family in the centre is shown. The work is part of the series ‘Vision’, a series of self-portraits by the artist. The works by the Vietnamese artist are provocative and casual at the same time. Influences of Jean-Michel Basquiat are well visible, to which Cong Cu adds the surreal expressionist elements of his own formal language. The collage ‘Money can buy it!’ by Nguyen Cong Cu is signed and dated the lower right ‘CU 05’. The work is in very good condition with only minimal traces of storage.
