Felipe De La Fuente Sold at Auction Prices

b. 1912 - d. 2000

Argentine painter, born in Bella Vista , Buenos Aires, on January 4 , 1912 . He died in Buenos Aires on May 25 , 2000 at age 88. He has managed, as a painter, to specify his own and characteristic image that identifies him in an unmistakable way.

Self-taught and training only in night courses in the state. He attended the workshops of Miguel Carlos Victorica , Lino Spilimbergo , Benito Quinquela Martín and Enrique de Larrañaga among other painters.

As part of his work he illustrated books by José Pagano , Celedonio Flores and Felipe H. Fernández . He decorated poems by Leonidas Barletta , and Mario Jorge de Lellis , among others.

On several occasions he was appointed jury for national, municipal, provincial and corporate competitions. Throughout his life he made more than 200 exhibitions, both in Argentina and abroad.

In his works, the scenes of the Buenos Aires cantinas, the typical tango characters, the landscapes of the Tiger , the bonfires of San Juan and the streets of Buenos Aires on foggy days can be seen as characteristic. Among the prizes he has won is the " Benito Quinquela Martín " acquisition prize, in the 1964 national hall for the oil painting "Dead Roads" which is currently in the Quinquela Martín Museum
