De Meyer, Antonji Andreas (1806-1867) Gefrorene Küste, Öl auf Leinwand. Darstellung einer Landschaft mit gefrorenem Gewässer, Eisläufern und Pferd. Links Reethäuser und blattlose Bäume. An beiden Ufern sind in der Ferne Windmühlen angeordnet. Rechts im Hintergrund ein Kirchenbau. De Meyer war Schüler des Landschaftsmalers Andreas Schelfhout. Sie reisten in den 1830er Jahren zusammen nach Deutschland. De Meyer malte hauptsächlich holländische Landschaften mit Seen, Wäldern und Mühlen, die von Zeit zu Zeit mit Figuren und Häusern angereichert werden. Darüber hinaus malte er vielfach belebte Winterlandschaften mit Schlittschuhläufern. Links unten signiert "A.A. de Meyer". Leinwand 29,5 x 49,5 cm. Prunkrahmen 46 x 67 cm. A. de Meyer' in pencil on the stretcher Dimensions: 58 x 94 cm Gilt frame: 71.5 x 107.5 cm Provenance: Private collection Denmark Good condition Panorama: View over the flat northern Dutch countryside with trees, fields and city in the background half of the canvas belongs to the sky Condition: The painting is in a good condition consistent with the age with tiny craquelure. The varnish has been darkened and there are scattered marks and a small hole on the right side (in the trees). Retouched spots can be seen under UV light affecting the sky and the landscape. On the reverse the canvas shows a relined spot. The frame shows usual signs of wear and pigment loss mainly at the edges. The dimensions are 58 x 94 cm and the frame measures 71.5 x 107.5 cm.
