‘Sumptuous Still Life’ by Georg Deinhart, Munich, 1924

Deinhart. 1924’ Very good condition This still life shows a table, laid with a number of delicacies; the left part shows a bowl of fruit; ham right next to it, surrounded by grapes; to the right, a red crab and mussels. In the background, to the right, there is a bouquet of flowers in autumnal colours. There is a signature and date lower left: ‘G. Deinhart. 1924’. The work has an ornamental gold-leaf frame. Both the piece and the frame are in very good condition with slight signs of age-related wear and use. The colour layer shows craquelure and minimal loss of colour. The piece measures 70 x 100 in frame. Georg Deinhart (1868-1939) Georg Deinhart lived and worked in Munich and Erlangen. He was an academic painter, having completed his studies at the Munich academy. Landscapes, still life, religious and mythological scenes were among his preferred motifs.
