      Le Retour par la Plage (Tunisie) is an original artwork realized by Emile Deschler in 1977. Monotype on paper. Hand-signed and dated in pancil on the lower right corner. Perfect conditions. Interesting impression realized by the French artist Emile Deschler representing a North-African seaside landscape. The colors of the artwork are warm, and the impression is in excellent condtions. The landscape is almost desert, except for three figures in the center of the shore. At the top, there is an horizontal band realized with a very intense shade of blue, representing the sea. 46 x 55 (foglio), 30 x 40 (image)

      La vision de l'ange is an original pencil pastel and watercolor on paper by Emile Deschler. Dated on the lower right. Very good conditions. Emile Deschler (France, 1910 - 1991) was a French painter. In 1930, he was admitted to the National School of Fine Arts of Paris, in the department of Architecture with the professor Rogert Expert. In 1937, he graduated in Architecture, and, in the same year, he obtained the Golden Medal at the International Exposition in Paris. After two years, he obtained a scholarship in Liban and the bursary of the Ministry of National Education. From 1946 to 1976, he devoted himself to architecture and often travelled in North Africa. From 1977, he dedicated himself to painting and drawing again. His drawings are very interesting for the strokes and the realism of his figures; the nudes appear elegant, brilliant, and intense. 24 x 17.5

      It's impossible to state what appearance this unpublished maquette was intended to promote as the penciled-in text in the upper right corner is anything but conclusive. However, the poster public's loss is most definitely our gain, as Deschler's modestly boa-draped and beaming Baker creates a lasting impression that far surpasses lithographic immortality. Little is known of Deschler. Other than the fact that the painter was born in Espinal (Vosges) and showed his work regularly at the Salon d'Automne from 1933 on.
