    Madame M. is a black and white etching and drypoint realized by the French artist active in the end of the XIX century Maurice Deville in 1894. This original print, representing a superb female portrait with a very sure touch, is a beautiful artist's proof, before letter, with an autograph inscription (a devotion) and a blue-ink stamp on the lower margin "Société des Aquafortistes Français". Inscription: "Cette éprouve a été tirée pour M., Membre de la Société des Aquafortistes français". In excellent conditions, except for a usual yellowing of paper, including a white cardboard passepartout: 45 x 31.5 cm. Madame M. è un'acquaforte e punta secca in bianco e nero realizzata dall'artista francese attivo alla fine del XIX secolo Maurice Deville nel 1894. Questa stampa originale, che rappresenta un superbo ritratto femminile con un tocco molto sicuro, è una bella prova d'artista, prima della lettera, con un'iscrizione autografa (una devozione) e un timbro a inchiostro blu sul margine inferiore "Société des Aquafortistes Français". Iscrizione: "Cette éprouve a été tirée pour M., Membre de la Société des Aquafortistes français". In ottime condizioni, salvo un consueto ingiallimento della carta, compreso un passepartout in cartoncino bianco. 34.3 x 25 (foglio), 45 x 31,5 (passepartout) 30 x 23 (image)

If her colleague looks astonished, it should be remembered that although there were racing models manufactured under thirty pounds, bicycles at the time weighed as much as sixty pounds, and so lightness became a competitive edge in a highly competitive business. This one weighed in at about twenty pounds—light even by present-day standards. Look ma, one hand! (Art Nouveau; Bicycles)
