    James Dick (1834 - 1868) Painting of Elegant Woman with Cat in an interior setting. Signed lower left. Oil on board. Sight size: 11.5 x 9 inches. He was the son of engraver Archibald L. and brother of Archibald R. Dick. He was active in Brooklyn c. 1839-1868 and exhibited at the National Academy of Design between 1855 and 1867. His name is listed with the middle initial T. in American Engravers upon Copper and Steel by David Mc.N. Stauffer.
