According to their owners and corroborated by examination, all are in good condition and, if framed, are framed properly with paper or other support appropriate and/or according to the artist's known expectations, wishes, or choosing or may have originally been prepared for private or public viewing by the artist him or herself. They may be hinged or otherwise properly floated. That said, they are all of good appearance with no known condition issues.

DISFARMER, MIKE (1884-1959) Group of nine images, all but one with the characteristic Meyer Studios frame in the image, gelatin silver prints, image 3 1/4 x 2 5/16 inches (83 x 59 mm) or larger, the versos stamped "The Meyer Studio/Heber Springs, Ark." with a stamped negative number. Some handling marks etc. (these family portraits were not treated as high art); one image with numerous lipstick kisses on the verso, that example (much loved), with more creasing and an emulsion defect. Original printings from Disfarmer's studios (born Meyer, he adopted the Disfarmer name to emphasize his rejection of his agrarian roots), while not vanishingly rare, are somewhat hard to find. This is a nice little trove of the work of this most vernacular of fine portrait photographers. C

She is isolated within the frame, giving this a psychological dimension that is part of what makes Disfarmer's photographs so fascinating.
