Profusely illustrasted with black and white photographic plates. Original black cloth, and original orange flexible boards; in original blue cloth slipcase, and original printed corrugated cardboard box. Bunraku is often considered one of the most beautiful photobook productions of post-war Japan, by one of Japan's most renowned 20th-century photographers. Domon elegantly captures the art of Japanese puppet theater in full page black and white photographs. Rare. Provenance: From the personal archive of Lou Dorfsman thence to current owner.
