          Two-stage, smooth barrel, octagonal then round after a double chiselled girdle, in 17 mm calibre with iron sights. The slightly chiselled lock with spring-loaded serpentine, the external wheel with cock on the back. The stock made of smooth beech with iron mounts. Original wooden ramrod (shortened) with iron tip. Length 144 cm. Rare combined matchlock and wheellock musket in beautiful condition. Condition: II +

          A heavy German cavalry sabre with chiselled hilt, circa 1660/70

          Sturdy, slightly curved, single-edged blade with double fullers on both sides and a slightly widened, double-edged point. Decorative etching (over-polished in places) along the entire length, with representations of the moon, a star and an arm with sabre, among others. S-shaped, curved iron quillons with dot-shaped silver inlays. A mascaron on both sides of the crosspiece, the ends terminating in three-dimensional, chiselled lion's heads. The grip with cord winding covered in brown leather, fluted iron ferrule. Fully sculptured iron lion's head pommel with appliquéd circular riveted button. Length 105 cm. Condition: II -

Without text on verso. With insert Polar hemispheres, borders decorated with subjects out of classical mythology. Showing California as an island. Later, skillful hand color.           WINCHESTER MODEL 21 PREWAR BOXLOCK DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN

          serial #1654, 12ga., 28" barrels factory choked modified and cylinder with bright excellent bores. The barrels retain about 97% original blue, the loss due primarily to fading at the muzzles and some very light scuffs and handling marks. The frame retains 97-98% original blue with the only loss being on the high edges and on the fences. The checkered walnut pistolgrip buttstock rates about excellent with only a few very minor handling marks and dings as does the splinter style forend; both are oil-finished. Length of pull to the original Winchester buttplate is 14" with drops of 1 1/2" and 2 1/2". Lockup is tight and the gun is double trigger and extractor equipped. A sharp looking 1934-manufactured model 21 overall. (34297-183) {C&R}
