Gaspard Duchange (1666-1757) Petrus Paulus Rubens (1577-1640) KRÁLOVNIN PŘÍJEZD DO MARSEILLE 1710 Mědirytina na papíře, 515x360 mm (výřez pasparty), zn. vlevo dole „Rubens pinxit“, „I. B. Natter delin“ a vpravo dole „G. Duchange sculpsit 1710“. „Le debarquement de la Reine au port de Marseille“. Výjev zachycuje vylodění Marie Medicejské do marseillského přístavu. Paspartováno. Petrus Paulus Rubens – nejvýznamnější vlámský barokní malíř. Učil se u nejlepších antverpských malířů, poté roku 1600 odjel do Itálie, kde působil např. jako dvorní malíř mantovského vévody Vincenza Gonzagy. Studoval zde antické umění a kopíroval také staré mistry, např. Tiziana. V roce 1608 se vrátil do Antverp a brzy poté se proslavil zakázkami pro tamní katedrálu. Později pracoval také pro francouzský královský dvůr, pro nějž zhotovil např. sérii alegorických obrazů ze života Marie Medicejské, umístěnou dnes v Louvru. Kvůli množství zakázek provozoval rozsáhlou dílnu, z jeho žáků patří k nejvýznamnějším Anthonis van Dyck (1599-1641). Působil také úspěšně jako diplomat.
