      EBEL, Alex (American, 1932-2013). A group of 2 original illustrations. Including: “Plants of the Sea”. 1971. Acrylic and airbrush on paper, mounted onto illustration board, with production onlay. Unsigned. Illustration: 7 x 13 ¼”. Some wear, sticker removal, production notes on matte (not affecting illustration), some notes on verso of board. [Together with:] Fish on a Coral Reef. Watercolor on paper. With production onlay, some marginal production notes. 13 ¾ x 19”. Some edgewear, creasing, some soiling to verso. A good group. Ebel was a respected science fiction illustrator and is perhaps most famous for his illustration for the poster for the first Friday the 13th film (1980).
