Originaltitel 1969 entstandene, expressive Komposition mit drei Figuren auf teppichartigem Grund, in der linken unteren Ecke eine kleine Figur von Christus auf dem Palmesel. Edelmann studierte 1948-1952 an der Landeskunstschule Hamburg bei Erwin Krubeck, Willem Grimm, Ivo Hauptmann und Werner Haftmann. Seit 1952 freischaffend in Ralhstedt, erhielt Edelmann ab 1962 zahlreiche Aufträge für Kirchenfenster und Bronzen in Hamburger Kirchen. Öl/Lwd.; Verso sign., betitelt u. dat. 1969. 80 cm x 80 cm. Based on cards it depicts the couple of the Queen accompanied by Jack, who appear also upside down, yet in a slightly different variation. The color lithograph is signed and dated lower right ‘Hanno Edelmann’ as well as numbered lower left ‘K 15/18’. The sheet is verso additionally stamped ‘Handdruck Erika und Hanno Edelmann’ (=Handprinted by Erika und Hanno Edelmann). The sheet is in a good condition indicating only slight signs of age and use such as minor marginal blemishes. The image measures 56 x 38 cm. The sheet size is 64 x 49 cm. the framed dimensions are 72 x 57 cm. Hanno Edelmann (geb. 1923) Hanno Edelmann was born 1923 in Hamburg. He began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg in 1924 which he had to interrupt due to World War II, but finished it after the war was over. He became a member of the Munich Secession in 1961 and further took part at national as well as international exhibitions. ‘Magic in Art’ Collection of the Magician Mr. Cox The German magician Mr. Cox (1932-2012) collected a large number artworks of contemporary artists within the scope of the art project ‘Magic in Art’. He had the collection on display at his magic art theatre and magic art museum in Lüneburg (Germany). Mr. Cox, born as Jürgen Wolfram in 1932 in Stettin, started his career as an illusionist in 1958. Shortly thereafter, he abandoned his profession as a detective superintendent. In 1964, he won the first prize of the Grand Prix of the World Championships of Magic, and in 1973, he came second in the world championship in Paris together with his professional and life partner ‘Annabelle’.
