Expressive depiction of a drummer playing with a death mask on the upper part of his head. Five heads with wide open mouths protrude from beneath the drum. - Painter, graphic artist a. sculptor. E. began an apprenticeship as lithographer that he could not finish because of military service. After the war he studied at the Hamburg academy under W. Grimm and I. Hauptmann. Originaltitel 1969 entstandene, expressive Komposition mit drei Figuren auf teppichartigem Grund, in der linken unteren Ecke eine kleine Figur von Christus auf dem Palmesel. Edelmann studierte 1948-1952 an der Landeskunstschule Hamburg bei Erwin Krubeck, Willem Grimm, Ivo Hauptmann und Werner Haftmann. Seit 1952 freischaffend in Ralhstedt, erhielt Edelmann ab 1962 zahlreiche Aufträge für Kirchenfenster und Bronzen in Hamburger Kirchen. Öl/Lwd.; Verso sign., betitelt u. dat. 1969. 80 cm x 80 cm.
