With dust jacket. Signed/inscribed on front free end leaf by the author/artist, œFor Gerry Mickelsen, with sincere admiration and affection. Condition: Good; toning. BEATRICE EDNA MACPHERSON EDGERLY(1898-1973) served as Mickelsen™s co-pilot in a Bellanca light plane, in the Seventh Annual All-woman Transcontinental Air Race, a 2,700-mile competition. She wrote an account of the experience with Mickelsen in œWeather All the Way, Flying magazine, October 1953, Vol. 53, No. 4. Geraldine œGerry Mickelsen (1913-1990) was a California pilot, WWII WASP, and member/officer of the female aviators organization, The Ninety-Nines.
