      Auguste Enfantin (1793 Belleville near Paris - 1827 Naples): Landscape with goat, tree and stream as well as individual houses, c. 1820, Etching Technique: Etching on Paper Stamp: Lower right Collector's stamp, Lugt no.: 971. Friedrich August II. von Sachsen (1797-1854). Dresden. 19th century Date: c. 1820 Description: In the foreground, a goat climbs through the shallow water of the stream, next to it another rests on the bank. On the left is a gnarled, tall tree. At the back on the right, a few pollarded willows line the bank, and a few houses appear behind them. Enfantin probably made this etching during his stay in Italy between 1825 and 1827. In Rome he had contact with artists such as François-Edouard Bertin and Camille Corot. In 1827, at the age of 34, he died in Naples. Description: Under a sky covered with piling up dark clouds, the Campanile of a small Italian church rises up, which seems to be partly decayed. Enfantin probably made this etching during his stay in Italy between 1825 and 1827. In Rome he had contact with artists such as François-Edouard Bertin and Camille Corot. Description: Enfantin shows us here the idyllic picture of a pastorale with a resting shepherd with his animals in the shade of large trees in a wide landscape. In the front a watering place and two animals resting in the grass. Enfantin probably made this etching during his stay in Italy between 1825 and 1827. In Rome he had contact with artists such as François-Edouard Bertin and Camille Corot. In 1827, at the age of 34, he died in Naples. Description: The depiction shows a woman with a jug drawing water from a spring in an Italian landscape with rocks and trees, on the left two goats. Above the spring a stone cross is enthroned between the gnarled trees. Enfantin made this etching during his stay in Italy. In Rome he had contact with artists such as François-Edouard Bertin and Camille Corot. In 1827, at the age of 34, he died in Naples.
