Henry Salkeld married Anne Gibson in 1808, and lived in Thames Ditton, Surrey.

Diana Jane, daughter of Edmund Pery, 1st Viscount Pery. He studied at St. John's College, Cambridge, before embarking on a career in politics. In 1812, Knox succeeded his father as M.P. for County Tyrone and later for Dungannon between 1818-1830. He gained the courtesy title Viscount Northland upon his father's elevation to the earldom of Ranfurly in 1831 and later succeeded his father as the 2nd Earl of Ranfurly in 1840. He married Mary Juliana, daughter of the Most Reverend William Stuart, in 1815, by whom he had four sons and six daughters. Upon his death in 1858, he was succeeded by his eldest son, Thomas.
