Model of the large sculpture. The large bronze is located in front of the factory of the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in North Carolina/USA. The client was Kurt Körber, owner of the Hamburg Hauni company, who presented the group to the American business partners as a gift. According to the artist, the 116 unicyclists symbolize the employees of the factory. - Literature: Cat. rais. Sign. and dated onto the top side of the plinth 'ENGST 76', foundry mark to the plinth's border 'GUSS BARTH ELMENHORST'. Slight traces of oxidation. H. 53 cm. - Literature: Cat. rais. Tiedge 105 (monumental sculpture). - German sculptor, studied after theological studies at the Art Academy in Munich by Prof. Hiller and at the HFBK in Hamburg by E. Scharff.
