Photographer's credit stamp on the verso After his beginnings as an assistant to an advertising photographer, Siedfried Enkelmsnn worked in Hans Robertson's studio (which he later inherited) where he began to devote himself to ballet photography. It was in this particular field that he established himself as the most outstanding German photographer between the 1930s and 1960s.

      Michèle Seigneuret and Maurice Béjart in "Le Teck" (double exposure). 1956. Vintage gelatin silver print on Agfa-Brovira paper. 29,8 x 24 cm. Dancers' names written in pencil, photographer's stamp and annotated as well as layout notes in pencil on the verso. The dancer/choreographer Maurice Béjart was inspired by Marta Pan's sculpture "Le Teck" to create a pas-de-deux. He performed the piece with Michèle Seigneuret in 1956 at the Avantgarde Festival of Marseille, up on the roof of Le Corbusier 's Unité d'Habitation building. This is a rare, artistically reworked original photograph which shows the "Le Teck" sculpture in the center. – Painting and retouching on photo, minimal edge wear, some handling creases, otherwise in good condition.
