Ferdinand Bonaventura I von Harrach (1637-1706) and his son Alois Count Harrach (1669-1762) were Austrian envoys in Madrid. The latter also held the office of viceroy in the then Spanish Kingdom of Naples between 1728 and 1733. During this time, the Harrachs built up a considerable collection of Spanish and Italian prints from the 16th and 17th centuries, which would later enrich the library of the Harrach Palace in Vienna. (Cf. Wurzbach VII (1861), pp. 371-73.) - With heavier trimming, especially at top edge (though without loss of text), paper time-stained, altogether a well-preserved copy of this rare edition of this important work.
