Study for a Mural, gouache on illustration board, signed verso, possibly for the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Honolulu, built in 1927; depicting native women waiting to greet visitors on the beach, the distant sailing ship identifying them as European, ca. 1750, the eight women are in various degrees of undress, one is offering a large basket of fruit, in a carved frame that evokes native patterns, with red mat, under glass, OS: 11 1/4" x 16 1/4", SS: 7 3/4" x 12 3/4". Fine condition.

Robert Lee Eskridge Kailua-Hawaii watercolor on paper 20.75 h × 17.75 w in (53 × 45 cm) Signed and titled to lower left 'Robert Le Eskridge Kailua-Hawaii'. condition: Work was executed on a sheet laid down to heavier cardstock. Pigments appear to have been washed over with browns by artist, with lighter bands of contrast to upper and lower edges. Small points of lifting along upper and lower edges of sheet likely from contact with previous framing. Overall work is stable and free of any discoloration to note. Unframed.
