Cesar Estrada Chavez - Signed Self-Portrait

Cesar Estrada Chavez (March 31, 1927 - April 23, 1993) is a legendary farm worker, labor leader and civil rights activist who co-founded the National Farm Workers Association, later called the UFWU. He was strongly promoted by the American labor movement and supported nonviolent tactics in getting rights for Farm Workers. He became a major historical icon for the Latino community, the liberal movement, and was the first to use this phrase for his slogan: "Si, se puede!"….Yes, we can! In January opt 1993, just 3 months before his death, he provided a signed self portrait to the UFW and AFL-CIO for a successful fund raiser regarding the grape boycott. Here is that one of a kind piece. It is framed with photograph, a provenance letter from the UFW/AFL-CIO and laser logo.

Marco Zamudio. 150 x 120 cm
