Mark Eurich (1968- ) British Oil on canvas ' Solitude ' Signed lower right, titled and dated September 2007 verso 14" x 18" Mark Eurich is principally known both as a portrait artist specialising in the portrayal of rock stars and for his abstract works of art which involve dramatic explosions of colour and energy. However, his paintings cover a wide range of subjects, from portraits to abstracts to landscapes and across the spectrum he has a very distinctive and instantly recognisable style. His works portraying rock icons are becoming increasingly renowned and he is Art Director for the Jimi Hendrix Foundation and the principal artist for Gibson Guitars. He is also the principal artist to the Professional Football Association. He was commissioned to paint a portrait of Alice Cooper as a charity auction gift at the Classic Rock Awards in 2006 and earlier one of his paintings auctioned in aid of Children in Need at the Professional Footballer Awards was sold for £16,000. He is currently workin on a series of iconic pictures for exhibition in New York and London with many to be sold in aid of charities. The current painting employing vivid colours combines a number of features for which he is known. It is a subtle blend of the abstract combined with what could also be a real life location so that the end product perceived is very much in the eye of the beholder, though the overall theme conveys a feeling of peace and tranquility as reflected by the title.
